Margaret M Walsh posts on 4/2/2010 8:30:05 PM LOOK what I found on page 489. "Corporations, partnerships and legal assoications of any kind shall not be deemed "persons" for purposes of applying or intrepreting the U.S. Constitution. "Person" shall hereby be defined by law as human being." In SECTION TWO of the EXPANSION of DYNAMIC DEMOCRACY ACT, part of the AGENDA for the COMMON GOOD, Ralph Nader reveals the legislation that will save us. Ralph Nader's 1st work of fiction, "Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!" is a noble blueprint. Sit at the table with some super-rich as they noblely employ the skills that had made them super-rich to leave a legacy of common good.
Rick Caldwell posts on 2/19/2010 4:40:43 AM Just wanted to let you know I finished reading ELOIK: The Dreamer's Awakening which is billed as a YA fantasy book. Although the target reader is the Harry Potter/Narnia/LOTR crowd,I thought it was very well written and it is certainly addictive an a fun read for any age group. I'm 39). It is about a teenager, Eloik, who discovers that his nightmares are actually not only the work of his mind but rather that dreams are the gateway to another world where there's a war between good and evil for the control of the human spirit. Pretty fresh approach to the fantasy genre. At 240 some pages, it reads well in a long weekend. I highly recommend it. It's on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Good reading.

BrandyW posts on 12/20/2009 12:31:26 AM I am looking for a book I read in the 90's I don't know when I was published though. It was about two eight-teen or nineteen year olds, one boy one girl. Their families had been going to the same vacation spot since they were little. The two of them had stopped going every summer around the time they were fourteen I believe, meaning one summer he would go and the next she would go. Well their parents talked them into to going one last time before they each left for College. I don't remember the names of the characters, or anything like that really. I know it took place at a cabin resort in the woods. I remember they created a small mystery when they were little about the floating lantern that showed up across the lake I think mainly during storms. They also had this goal of swimming the lake from shore to shore since it was a summer challenge for any who tried, the lake was very wide. I believe it was like five miles wide if I'm not mistaken. The two kids were not related just good friends but I think one of them or maybe both had a younger sibling. Books that were listed as possably being the one I am hunting: Gone Away Lake Lost Girls If anyone can help that would be great thank you.
Vivi@Apogee posts on 12/1/2009 7:32:53 AM Hello forum! just read a really nice book "The school for Gods" by Stefano d'Anna. "The School for Gods" is a novel about the ideas and the philosophy that inspire the School, but also a manifest announcing “the Individual Revolution”, the birth of vertical men, the cells of a new humanity finally healed from pain, fear and conflictual thinking. The original manuscript has already been translated into English, Italian, Turkish, Greek, German, Romanian and Hebrew, and in 2005, the Turkish version was nominated bestseller having reached sales figures of more than 100,000 copies in three years. The Greek version was released on January 10, 2007 - whereas the Portuguese version on October 24, 2007 in Brazil and the Romanian version on March the 7, 2008. Has anyone read it??I was wondering whether you are interested to include it in your reviews! For more info you can visit the book's website it is also available in multiple languages.. thanks for your time!hope to see the book included some time soon!

WadeStinson posts on 10/30/2009 2:55:54 PM Hi Forum, My name is Wade Stinson in Jack, Alabama and I am a quadriplegic from a diving accident when I was seventeen years old. I have just published an autobiography recounting my life growing up in The South, the tragedy of my accident, and the tumultuous years I have experienced since. I know that you see hundreds of requests from authors and publishers each month, but I have written a book that includes a wide range of issues that fascinate readers: The eccentric culture of the rural South, personal tragedy, sex, violence, and even the exploding quest of American men for East-European brides. Topics that are relevant, because the specter of paralysis is real and threatening if Superman becomes a victim. I answer the questions often “fudged upon” by evasive writers: Why does paralysis haunt us? What is the emotional turmoil encountered after a spinal cord injury? How does someone function with three-fourths of his body as an unfeeling, unmoving weight? And is sex in a paralytic condition possible? If so, how? Does the life of a quadriplegic have value or purpose? I also answer the questions of internet romance and marriage between an American man and a Russian woman: What are the motives, processes, and perils of Western men seeking East-European brides through internet introduction agencies? What are the cultural conflicts involved? Do these relationships succeed? Are there scams for gullible and desperate men to discover before, or after it is too late? And are there unfortunate stories of deceit and violence? I am confident my autobiography is a worthy attempt. The title of my book is Between Grief and Nothing, and it is available from Xlibris by calling 1-888-795-4274, amazon barnes and noble. As for my professional references, I was an English teacher for nine years at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama. I received my M.S. in English Education from Troy State University in June of 1995. I received my B.A. in English at Troy State also. In 1993, I was an intern editor for The Alabama Literary Review. Thank you. I am, Wade Stinson 724 C.R. 204 Jack, Al. 36346
kenny posts on 10/22/2009 7:51:54 PM Hello, Hope everyone had a good 4th of july weekend. Mine was great. I'm looking for a book I read s few years back, don't remember the title or the author. I was a Marine stationed in Ramadi, Iraq, and we had boxes of books that people had donated. I read a few, but the one I keep thinking about and would love to read again if I could find it was the most amazing sci-fi book I ever read. It took place in the Amazon Basin, present times. The main character was an American guy who's father had been missing in the Amazon for years. There had been strange clues turning up in the jungle as to what he was researching (lost tribe, plants that contained cures for almost every disease known to mankind). A female scientist was part of the group doing research on the lost explorer and his work. I don't exactly know how it happened, I think she somehow got in contact with the son and convinced him to come out to to the jungle and help them. Also, I think they had found his arm, and were keeping it concealed for research. So the son came out, and the author describes him coming to a farm somewhere in South America where he stayed with a family. The family had a crop duster, and one of them flew him out to survey the landscape twice and then to drop him off at a location where he was supposed to go to to get information. But as they flew over part of the jungle, heavy rains came and the plane crashed. The pilot was badly hurt and the American tried to save him, don't remember whether he lived or died in the end. But I remember they tracked down the female scientist and her team who was searching for his father and found her with some type of armed force escorting them. The armed escorts turned out to be bad guys who wanted to tear down the forest and sell the exotic plants used for breakthrough medecine. When they tried to escaape, the soldiers chased them through the jungle, caught them and had them captive as they looked for the missing scientist. They encountered much danger in the jungle: deadly outbreaks, poisonous snakes and bugs, and giant caiman crocodiles that lived over 100 years. Eventually, they all end up finding the missing scientist, who is living with an isolated pigmy tribe deep in the Amazon. They have him as their guest and friend. His arm had grown back, and he told them how he got where he was and all that happened to him. He explained how they all lived in this giant tree, which was the source of all life. It provided everything they needed. And then they went deep down in the roots of the tree and found samples of every organism on earth. The tree was preserving them. Then the soldiers came with guns and tried to massecre everyone and a bomb destroyed everything. The explorer's son and the female scientist escaped (there was very little romance in the story except for the end). I may be wrong about how the story ended, but I know the tree was destroyed, the bad guys died and some people escaped. It's a really good book, and I would love to read it again, if anyone can help me find it. I keep thinking the author is David Baldacci, but I've search all his books and couldn't find what I was looking for. If you have any idea, please let me know. Thanks
