James Cobb posts on 7/14/2007 4:17:32 PM Okay, here's the word on Amanda. Baen Books has elected to not pick up the Amanda series. No hard feelings, they just thought that its a little too far out of their chosen field. But a second major publisher is looking at the series at this time and I'll give you the word on this just as soon as I hear anything myself. However there is yet another new Amanda project under discussion. I can say no more at the moment as we don't have the contracts signed yet. I am not finished with the lady. In the meantime, The Arctic Event is still on track for publication this September and Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine has just picked up another Kevin Pulasky hotrod mystery.
Mike posts on 7/12/2007 10:08:47 AM I still have not seen any listing for the new Amanda Garrett book. I have checked Baen website but still no joy!!I am suffering from Amanda deprivation. Mike Palmer

David posts on 6/28/2007 1:02:08 PM Any News On a Publisher & Publication Date For Amanda Garrett - "Phantom Force"?
Erik posts on 6/2/2007 2:05:22 PM Dear Mr. Cobb, Definately enjoyed the short story from the Amanda Lee Garrette universe in the "Future Weapons" book from Baen. Keep up the great work! Look forward to many more ALG stories!
Barbara R. posts on 6/1/2007 11:10:43 PM Dear Mr. Cobb: Regardless of the opinions of some, I believe you are doing a wonderful thing in keeping the Ludlum name current while putting a different spin on his wonderful body of work and characterizations. Now on to important things---I need my Amanda fix. It really has been too long between sorties and I can't wait for her next adventure. Thank you.
robert maes posts on 6/1/2007 11:08:23 AM Dear Mr Cobb, you are so wrong. When an autor dies, the best thing to reader can do is to reread the books he wrote and appreciate them again. But the travesty that you are a part of , of using a death mans name to fool readers, who buy a " brand " trust that brand not the cheat them. is shamefull and has only 1 reason and 1 only , money. I bought the Ambler warning in an airport , in a hurry, trusting I was buying an original. In your thinking, sir, it would not matter when I buy a Coca Cola, that there is dishwashwater inside, as long as it looks the same right. Well, Mr Cobb, the taste is very different, just as the books from Mr Ludlum and those of his graverobbers
James Cobb posts on 5/1/2007 1:20:12 AM Concerning Robert Ludlum's Covert One series. Mr.Ludlum, one of the all time greatones, is indeed no longer with us. But just because he has died doesn't mean that his concepts and characters must die with him. They can still provide adventure and entertainment for his many readers via the branded authors, such as myself, who have been selected by the Ludlum estate to carry on his work. I can assure you that with my upcoming Covert One nover, The Arctic Event, I've made no effort to present myself as Mr. Ludlum or to ape to "ape" Mr. Ludlum's unique writing style. I couldn't do that even if I wanted to. What I am doing is presenting my interperetation of his characters and his concepts in my way. I hope he legion of fans will be pleased with the result. It's an honor to work in his Universe. PS. No word yet on the new Amanda novel but you can catch a short story set in Amanda's Universe and starring one of the characters from the books in Joe Haldeman's new Future Weapons of War Anthology. "The Lady" herself makes an appearance as well.
Sum Gai posts on 4/25/2007 9:29:48 PM Robert Ludlum IS DEAD. For SIX YEARS, now. Yet - this corpse has apparently "written" six new books. Cobb - I like your writing. Please don't contribute to the obscene fiction that a dead guy's still cranking out books.
Joe Maxwell posts on 4/22/2007 9:06:40 PM Anxiously awaiting Phantom Force's release here in the U.S., or even just in English. Can't wait to find out what happens after Target Lock. Anybody hear anything? I looked on Baen's website but no such luck.
