Linda Howard Message Board

Black Dove posts on 7/19/2007 1:08:01 PM You guys are right. Everyone's opinions are different. Someone on this board said that they didnt like "A Game of Chance", and its one of my favorite LH books. I tend to lean toward the classic romantic sotrylines. I love her Westerns. The last book, "Inferno" blah blah... was just okay. I didnt know that it was going to end as a cliff hanger, but I knew that it was apart of a series. Now im suppose to read another authors book to find out how the story ends? Im not feeling that..but maybe one day I will pick it up. Anyway, thanks for the feed back. :)
Angela posts on 7/18/2007 1:56:24 PM I agree with the last writer. I have been participating in this message board for about 2 years, and there are a number of opinions on each of her books. I tend to like her books in general, even the futuristic or paranormal books or the Westerns (historical fiction). My suggestion is to buy some of these books at a used book store or on line through a used book distributor. I generally pay about half price for a book that way, if I can't get it at the library.
Chinakyle posts on 7/18/2007 1:44:25 PM Black Dove, Not everyone will enjoy books in the same way. Linda Howard has not written a book that I did not like, but that is just my opinion. I have found each of her books well worth my time and money. However, she has written one or two that is better than others. An Independent Wife:Over weight wife whose husband is not in love with her but years later they run into each other again. Cry No More: Child kidnapped at birth Dying To Please: Son of the Morning: Time travel The Way Home: To Die For: Drop Dead Gorgeous: Very Funny Cutting Edge: I wish I were at home this way I could give you a good run down of all the books you listed. Again I love anything that she has written and I would recommend them all.

Black Dove posts on 7/18/2007 11:47:14 AM Hey guys. I finished "Mr. Perfect" last night. OMG, what a cute/good book. I was laughing aloud throughout most of the book. It was almost as funny as "Open Season." I love this style of writing. I'm glad you guys told me to read it. If she would write in the style of "After the Night" with a little bit of "Open Season" thrown into the mix, I would be a happy camper. :) I only have a few Linda Howard books that I havent read yet. :( :( Are these books any good? I want to know your opinion before I spend my money..lol An Independent Wife Cry No More Dying To Please Son of the Morning The Way Home To Die For Drop Dead Gorgeous Cutting Edge
Leigh posts on 7/17/2007 10:39:46 AM If Jerri Gaddy, who lived in OKC is reading this, please email me leigh@seanshore.com about your son.
Black Dove posts on 7/10/2007 6:54:00 PM Okay..thats it. You guys have convinced me. I will read and let you know what I think. :) Another one that dissapointed me was "Now you see her." It had so much promise in the beginning, but as it neared the end, it just fell apart. NOW "Dream Man"..that one is pretty good book, and I LOVED "A Game of Chance". Drop Dead Gorgeous" is another one that im reluctant to pick up, but Ive heard nothing but great things about it on this board, so I may pick that one up also. :)
Anonymous posts on 7/10/2007 3:39:23 PM Black Dove, you don't know what you are missing if you haven't read Mr. Perfect. Anyone who is looking to read Ms. Howard, I ALWAYS recommend Mr. Perfect first. This is a must read!!!!
Black Dove posts on 7/10/2007 2:57:30 PM Here Here! I second that! I haven't read Mr. Perfect. It didn't seem to have much of a romantic storyline, but I might have to pick it up. I'm running out of LH books to read....lol
Jan B posts on 7/10/2007 1:21:39 PM Isn't it hard to believe that the writer of such classics like Mr Perfect and All The Queens Men (and not to forget The MacKenzies) can turn out such drivel. Please come back the old LH!! You're sorely missed
Black Dove posts on 7/10/2007 12:06:13 PM Omg, I hated Cover of night. I think I actually kicked the book acros the room..lol It was such a let down. After the Night is my favorite LH bbok. I love it when Gray starts obessively calling Faith, and she refuses to pick up the phone, which of course makes him angrier, and she yelling at the answering machine. I laugh out loud everytime I read that part. I love that book. I find that I like her books written around the early to mid 90's.
