Martina Cole Message Board

sharon-kate posts on 11/18/2006 9:50:14 AM I bought close for my sisters christmas and have read it myself first and greatly enjoyed it. Yes, you guess how the story is going to progress right from the start but its Martina Coles' brilliant character development i most admire. When i finished the book i missed them. Now i'm hoping my sister has bought me a copy as this is a book i would definatly reread.
kirsty scott posts on 11/18/2006 4:15:37 AM i must say the know was the first and best book of martinas in my opinion, nothing else has touched it !!
Coleman posts on 11/17/2006 4:27:46 PM I have read every book this author has wrote five hundred times.

Abigail posts on 11/17/2006 5:17:52 AM I have read all of Martina's books and i must admit that this is probably the weakest and most boring. I am now almost at the end and it has got better but i really struggled to keep reading it at the beginning, only because of her previous books have been so great, did i decide to continue. I did not buy it and am very glad as i would not be passing it on to anyone, i would recommed Dangerous Lady or Mauras Game if i wanted to introduce someone to Martina Cole's books. I hope next year she takes stock of these comments and goes back to her original style of writing.
lyn hughes posts on 11/16/2006 8:33:46 PM i,ve just finsihed the book and thought it was brilliant. It took me a little while to get into it but it was a good story, like all matina,s books. I can,t wait till next year when she brings out another one. well done!
kerry-jane posts on 11/16/2006 1:47:40 PM hi ive just finished reading the close and i cant wait for the next one can you tell me when that will be.
Sam posts on 11/15/2006 4:52:47 PM I am 2/3 of the way through and it is getting interesting now. Although I think I guessed how it was going to end the very first pages
Jenny posts on 11/14/2006 5:17:04 AM It seems to be general consenses that this book has been a huge let down to fans of Martina Cole. I have read most of her books but this one has no real substance to it. I was very disappointed and i am glad i did not buy this book but managed to get it from the library.
Donna Thatcher posts on 11/13/2006 6:20:24 AM Try reading Jodi Picoult, she is an amazing auther. i have just started Closer but its not made me addicted like Martina's other books have
Sharon Boot posts on 11/8/2006 2:49:33 AM I have read all Martina's books and have never been dissapointed they always deliver. As soon as I finish her newest book I am gutted because I miss it. Close was a big big let down and I never thought I would say that about any of her books. It got kind of interesting about 2/3 through and even then it wasent that good. The begining was very weak and so many characters, I didnt know who was who half the time. It had a lot of promise but just didnt deliver, nothing was told in detail like her other novels. I have been reading Martina's kind of novels for about 30yrs so its not as if I am a bit naive and just didnt get it, there really was nothing to get.
