Lori Wick Message Board

BW posts on 2/25/2012 12:50:10 AM Oh my! Talk about casting the first stone. Christians, please have mercy and forgiveness. Pray for Lori and her family. Maybe this information is as bad as it sounds, but one who has been on the wrong side of the media, have mercy. I believe in a spank (notice I didn't say spanking) of a young child. My child's pride was hurt - not his body. God is in control of this situation. Lori is a great writer and I enjoy her books immensly. Pray for her - don't stone her.
mk posts on 2/21/2012 12:47:03 PM I've really struggled with this news for the past few months. Lori's lovely books are one of the things that led me to seek out God twelve years ago...so how can that be bad, regardless of the person she is? But all of this makes me sick. I read the police reports (they are posted online) and her pastor condones beating two-month-old children with thick dowels to the point of bruising for "grumpiness." My own son was about two months old when I first read this, and it turned my stomach. While I do pray that Lori will see her own sin and for all of the poor children involved in this, I think I will continue to read the books she has written. If she does write other books, I will NOT be purchasing them, because she gives a large amount of money to a church that condones child abuse. Anyway, please keep us updated with news on the trial.
momawake posts on 2/13/2012 6:57:38 PM Amber Rose, I'm so glad you posted! I was so saddened by all the hateful comments toward Lori. Thank you for the reminder to be forgiving.

Amber rose posts on 2/13/2012 5:21:20 PM Hello everyone I've read some comments on here and it seems that though a lot of people here are christains and want to gods will, but only a few of you are saying to pray for lori..I am young and if I was to say my age I know a lot of you might not take what I have to say seriously..lori has made mistakes just as everyone here does but it not is our place to judge her for any of them for what they might be we all know who is the one who calls the final judgment..I love lori's books because they are very insightful to me. The things she puts in her books are wonderful teachings to show that god does love you no matter what you do and that he is ready for u with his arms wide open when u need him and are ready for him..that's what her books have taught me..that god really is all forgiving...I am only 17 years old but I have been through a lot more than you would think..so instead of sitting here saying lori is a horrid person take it to god pray for her and her family..leave it in gods hands and no matter what love her and her family keep them in your prayers...god bless you all and I am praying for all of you here that you might find it in your hearts to forgive like our holy father does and pray for those who need it
Jeb posts on 2/2/2012 2:11:45 AM I am formerly from the church they split from, and I can say for certain that they are a toxic group... but that doesn't need to be dragged out any more than it has already. Lori Wick's son stands trial in three weeks. I think we should all pray for him and the Wick family. Tim is a smart guy, and it saddens me that his family chose to stay with such an abusive group. I pray that he gets out of that church, whether on his own will, or by court order. I also pray that he will go on to live a life pleasing to God, with respect and love towards all God's creatures.
Michele posts on 1/26/2012 5:45:56 PM I have been a fan of Lori's for some time. I have read all her books several times. I find the road to salvation in everyone of them very plan and clear. I know that she has written 2 books (in 2009) that have become very hard to get a hold of and this fact saddens me. I have not followed the "case" but I know that my Lord would want me to react in love toward her. I feel horrible about the children involved but again I don't know the facts. I simply pray that the Lord will have HIS way through out this whole thing. We as Christians should be praying for everyone involved and not the first ones to throw stones. Jesus gave us a good lesson on this in the Bible.
barb posts on 1/26/2012 1:17:41 PM Have read lori Wicks books for many years and will keep reading them . No one is jumping in bed with every Tom,Dick and Harry and giving details those aare the aurthurs who should be arrested.
Anne Weston posts on 12/14/2011 12:34:31 AM You know it is amazing to me that Christians will so easily turn on each other. I do not know all the details of this case, but it's just amazing to me that you all are so ready to condemn her. Have any of you prayed for her? Have you prayed that if she was in the wrong, then God would in his own time and ways correct her like the loving Father that He is? I don't want to argue about whether she was directly involved or not, but I do want to make a point about doing what the Bible says. We're supposed to go to those who have fallen into sin with a spirit of meekness (Galatians 6:1). It seems everyone is ready to go with a spirit of vengeful vindictiveness. Is that really what the God of the Bible says? Again I'm not here to say whether I think she was a part of this abuse or not, and I won't negate the fact that innocent children were hurt. However, if you call yourself a Christian, you shouldn't be badmouthing a fellow Christian and essentially kicking them while they are down. Pray for Lori. I don't know that we will ever know the truth about what happened, but what if, for the sake of argument, she really was innocent of everything? She would be hurting because everyone had their preconcieved ideas about how awful they thought she was. I have one final comment. Those who say that Lori's books do not clearly present the plan of salvation may want to reread them. Having read Lori's books for years, I can look at my own small collection of Lori Wick and tell you a story from each book where a character described how they came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. In most of the books, there seems to be more than one story. I don't see how anyone could read her books and not understand clearly how to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Local Victim posts on 10/3/2011 12:03:07 PM Oh, Chris, if you only knew. They cooked themselves- they revealed everything they knew and had done in the initial investigation. Lori was not an innocent bystander- trust me on this. Lori was one of the people who gave advice on how to spank children. I know from childhood that Lori was capable of terrorizing people- she can be a very strong willed, mean person, and it was widely known that she wore the pants in the family. Do I hate Lori? Of course not. I just think we need to keep things in perspective and not gloss over her reputation simply because she is everyone's beloved, favorite author.
