posts on 7/25/2006 10:53:41 AM Pam- I know the feeling. These books have helped me. Just like Emily, I have been wondering for a long time if love will ever find me again. I'm still wondering, but I'm beginning to understand that love will happen on God's terms, not mine. He will bring me the man of His dreams, not mine. Hang in there. All things work for the glory of the Lord. I pray that your prodigal son will find his way back to the Lord and to your family.
posts on 7/23/2006 6:23:13 PM I discovered the Cape Light books by accident and was amazed and touched by how much of what I read applies to me. As a young woman, I was a banker (Jessica) with big dreams of living in a large city and advancing on the corporate ladder--but chose a local man who doesn't have a college degree but works hard and is a wonderful husband and father. Like Carolyn, I have a prodigal son who blames us for many of his problems, although he stays in touch. He has, however, turned his back on the way he was raised and on the Lord, so I continue to pray. These books have helped to bring me peace that I have not been able to find for several years. Many times, when I read the Bible, my focus was on the condemning of sin and not on the grace of God. I have been troubled by my job as well and these books have helped me to learn that I must accept God's will and not change it. I wish I could contact Ms. Spencer and let her know how her writings have touched and improved my life.

posts on 7/16/2006 7:59:35 PM The next book after "A Gathering Place" is "A Christmas Promise".
posts on 7/16/2006 6:38:23 PM Is there a 4th book following Cape Light Home Song A Gathering Place ??
posts on 7/10/2006 9:55:20 AM Jan- Pat has said in an earlier post that the date is supposed to be in October(check the post for the exact date). I cannot wait for it. Pat- I do think that they should make a miniseries special or something like that out of the books. But I agree with the actors bit- unknown is better.
posts on 7/9/2006 10:05:33 PM Does anyone know if there are any plans for more cape light books..last one was the christmas book.
posts on 7/2/2006 12:41:09 AM Mia - I like your idea about turning this series into a movie. I think each book could be made into a made for TV movie like they have done for the Love Comes Softly series on the Hallmark channel - or it'd make a good miniseries as well. I think I'd prefer them getting unknown actors and actresses to really capture the characters than getting well known personalities that you won't be able to get beyond their celebrity image (of course if they are great at acting one should be able to to). I would hope that they keep faithful to the story though and not feel that they have to change it.
posts on 7/1/2006 10:33:26 AM I have read all of these books and have loved every one of them. My favourite couple is Emily and Dan. I would really love it if this series of books was made into movies. Either way I can't wait for the new one in October.
posts on 7/1/2006 4:10:35 AM No that's the right order - Glenda posted back in January the order of the books - I wish they were numbered! That's the one thing I disliked about how the books were written - out of nowhere we get introduced to all different characters and the ones you came to know and love just disappeared almost - with only fleeting references to them - that's why I was so glad this past Christmas release of Christmas Angel brought back Sara and Luke to the forefront of the novels along with other tried and true characters. I loved the stories told (especially getting to know Molly better) I just wish the books were longer to incorporate updates on the original characters otherwise I can see how you almost feel you missed a book when you really didn't.
