very disappointed posts on 11/11/2008 8:03:14 PM I was very disappointed in Midnight. I read the Coldest Winter Ever nine years ago and was so excited when Midnight came out. This book has nothing to do the Coldest, and It should not be promoted as the sequel that is very miss leading and false adverstiment. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
Sparks posts on 11/11/2008 5:39:13 PM What people don't understand is that Midnight is not the sequel to the Coldest Winter Ever! I loved the book and thought that it would be a book that an 3 years if someone asked you about it you would remember what it was about . Alot of times when someone asked me about a book i can't remember what it was about because the all run togheter in my mind. I just want people to know that this book will having you thinking outside of the box. It was great!
Brit posts on 11/10/2008 1:03:46 PM Well....I have to say I am very upset about midnight! I expected a lot of drama and jump off! But I didnt get that. I was turning page after page after page just knowing something was gonna jump off but i got nothing. Overall it was a good book but I guess I was expecting a nice "Coldest Winter Ever!" seguel...not Midnight the Japanese loving Muslim...he was totally different than what I expected! But definetly a good book!

brItaz posts on 11/9/2008 10:28:19 PM When I picked up the book... I was expecting a hardcore ganster novel that extended past Winter's mothers funeral. But this is not a Sequel, but a prequel. This obviously shows that our beloved Sista Soulja is going to dig deeper and deeper into Mindight as a man and a Gangster. This book was awesome and beautifully written and I couldnt put it down... it was so intense to me I finished it in a day and a half. I cannot wait for the next book to come out, I just hope it doesnt take her another 9 years!!!! And Lauren London does not have the physique to play Winter...or the skills...I think that Jada Pinkett would be idealand the mother of Winter could NOT be V FOX... if you read the novel as many times as I did, you know that Winters mother was a black woman of a dark skin color and very exotic looking. Foxy Brown has the looks for this...but I'm sure not the acting ability.
LadyLinda posts on 11/9/2008 8:22:36 PM Midnight was def not what I expected! As a true coldest winter ever fan, like most people, i was expecting this book to be some where along the same lines. IT IS NOT! AT ALL! The love story is interesting at best but this midnight seems to have no relation to the one in the coldest winter ever...and there is absolutely no mention of either winter or her dad in this book. It seems like this midnight is a totally different person, one i could never imagine working for a drug lord. I do believe there well be a continuation to this big though, which I will prolly read..but midnight left me sightly disappointed and wanting to ask Souljah WHY?
iDoHair posts on 11/5/2008 10:05:21 PM Lauren London couldn't play Winter because Winter was curvy with DD cup size bra. Her dad Santiaga was light skin with dark curly hair so LL is out the picture. Maybe Rck Foxx can play Santiaga. I think Winter should be played by Raven Symone. Her mom Paula Jai Parker or Viviva Foxx cause they can play that ghetto fabolous role. Tyrese is perfect for Midnight
DeeJay posts on 11/5/2008 11:14:31 AM I was hoping for the same, unfortunately this isn't the case. However this book is a page turner, I couldn't put it down. It really had me thinking a lot about my up bringing and decision I as a black male living in the U.S. have made. I think after you get over the disappoint of not having the same story told from the male view point readers will fall in love with the book. I know I did. Rocky posts on 9/20/2008 11:01:02 PM I was hoping that the sequel would focus on the male perspective of the same story that happened in The Coldest Winter Ever....
Girl posts on 11/1/2008 10:55:33 PM Rachel Nicks who played in Life Support... I love Lauren London too but Rachel can really act I mean she went to Julliard for goodness sake!
Tae posts on 10/20/2008 9:56:35 PM This was the best book i have ever read. Friends of mine who havent read a book in their life couldnt put it down. Im dying for the sequel!
HUTCH posts on 10/17/2008 1:15:49 AM Im not really a reader at all I might read two books in a whole year! Because very few books capture my attention. But when my girlfriend bought the Sister Souljah book for me and I read it. Man I went bananas! I couldnt believe how real and intense that book was! Needless to say that the best book I ever read and I gotta get the sequel when it drops! SHAWTY her books are legalized crack! LOL!
