Aryn posts on 8/5/2009 2:03:34 PM Hi all, I do love Vc Andrews, but am frusterated with this ghost writer. I think the Casteel series was wonderful, except for the last two written. Sadly then I pick up the Dawn series only to be able to completely predict all of it!!! At least with the real VC you can't figure it out until it's written. Has anyone noticed the similarities in Christie and Annie. It's like this ghost writer couldn't come up with anything more than parents dying, only to be come on to by an older family member (tony, and Phillip), who keeps mixing them up for their mom or grandmother, then of course to fall in love with a family member who wasn't really a blood member? I noticed in Heaven, Dark Angel, and of course the entire flowers in the Attic series, that I was never sure what was next, but this ghost writer is something else. I also feel like if this ghost writer would've written Heaven, than according to his style she would've HAD to of fallen in love with Tom, especially when they found out they weren't related. LOL does anyone else see this? And I feel like in the Cutler series they really cut off a good character with Clara Sue, by killing her, it made it boring. It was like, wow, what's next, oh, wait she's dead. Just a standard car wreck. I found some confusing things, almost typos in the Cutler series. When Dawn is being told the truth about Clara Sue, with Bronson Alcott. He talks about his sister being sick. And when he's talking about her picture, he says she just died 2 years ago. But she died before Clara Sue was born. Twilights Child. page 132. "That's my sister Alexandra..." "...She died a little more than two years ago" But on page 142 it talks about her dying, and by then phillip had been born. The other one in Midnight whispers. page 58. Christie is going to blow out her candles. And it's like the writer forgot who he's writing about. Because it says "Dawn," she called. Is Dawn calling herself. LOL, I am frusterated, because I love the real books and series. I read them when I was a teenager. I remember not being pleased with the Cutler series then either. I don't know if I'll pursue the books any further. They are just too much the same now.

treacle posts on 3/28/2009 12:26:22 PM Who do you think would play some of the main characters if the books were amde into films? I always see Orlando Bloom as Troy, and Courtney Cox as Fanny. No idea why!
Sheri posts on 3/25/2009 10:09:10 PM I read all of V.C. Andrew's books too. I'm reading Delia's gift. V.C. Andrews is my favorite author.

treacle posts on 3/15/2009 5:33:43 AM I really didnt like the later books at all. I liked Casteels, Dollanganger and even Landry but Cutler went off the boil as did LOgan's I thought so I stopped reading. WHat are the more recent ones like? Any good?
Christopher posts on 1/23/2009 10:40:54 PM I am back. The Logan series was my second favorite after the Dollangangers. It seems Jenny and I are at odds again over the Logans. I felt the whole series was not predicable. Their family tree kept changing. Just when Melody thought she had it figured out there was a twist with tons of incest. Let us not spoil it for JRH but Melodys father was a big surprise. Neiderman left small hints in the first two books. He was really planning ahead like with Cary and Lauras relationship. In MELODY she considers it just a nasty rumor spread by the mean school kids. In HEART SONG Melody starts to suspect more with good reason. Even engaged to Cary she never has the courage to ask him point blank if the twins were in love. She probably fears his answer will be yes. The full truth is not known until Lauras story MUSIC IN THE NIGHT. I will not spoil it for you JRH. My only prediction was that Melody, Cary, and Laura were in fact triplets. I was wrong. Olivias story was one of the worst VCA books for me. Nothing new or interesting happened. Olivia was a poor villainous and I could not feel sorry for her as she brought most of her problems on herself and did nothing to change her situation. As for things going down hill after the Logans, yes they did. I did like the first two WILLOW DeBeers books. They were good soap operas. The prequels were a major let down. They could have had a lot of potential. The BROKEN WINGS series starts out OK but the second book MIDNIGHT FLIGHT left me floored. I stayed late at work because I could not put it down and was haunted by nightmares for weeks to come. I really felt I was one of those tortured girls. BROKEN WINGS can be summed up in 1000 words and is only worth reading as an introduction as to where these characters are coming from. Yes they have predictable VCA lives. RAIN the film was great. I have not read any of the Hudson series but the screenplay by Neiderman was probably pretty consistent. The production quality is below average but the story and great acting by Rain make it an A plus.
Laura posts on 1/23/2009 10:18:27 AM Having been a VC Andrews reader for years and enjoying MOST of her books, I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the Delia Series. It is sad, depressing, morose. To believe that one horrible thing after the next continues to happen to this young girl. That her disgusting family members continue to triumph time and time again is ridiculous. Last VC Andrews book for me. Makes me think the Andrews family has NO happiness in their owns lives.
